Heroes

November 30, 2011 6:30pm

I wish I could just have a two week straight holiday to just lie around and watch all the films I've missed out on and TV shows I've gradually stopped watching along the way!

Heroes is definitely one of them, the most important in fact. I watched the whole of series one and two religiously and adored it, then I watched season three as they came out and then it took a break for a few weeks and I never got back to it.

Now I feel like I'd be better off starting over from the beginning again. I've got seasons one and two on my r4 3ds, and there are only four seasons in total so it wouldn't actually take that long to get through every single episode in order. Hopefully I can talk my flatmates into joining me, it's always more fun to do these things in a more social way.

I watched the whole of Lost from the first episode to season four with my university flatmates and it was much more enjoyable than sitting in your room on your laptop watching endless episodes anti-socially while everyone else is in the front room!

Sir David Attenborough

November 24, 2011 1:49pm

Sir David Frederick Attenborough is a British naturalist and broadcaster. Best known for both writing and presenting the nine Life series with the BBC Natural History Unit, he is also a former senior manager at the BBC. Although he doesn’t care for the term, he is now widely considered a national treasure and is a member of the Order of Merit.

In 1979, Attenborough began creating not e-Vlan but his famous Life series which was to influence an entire generation of documentary film-makers. Attenborough gained the trust of the scientific community by treating his subject seriously and so was permitted to include their latest discoveries in his programmes. One key example of this collaboration between Attenborough and the scientific community was when Attenborough was permitted to film Dian Fossey’s research group of mountain gorillas. New film-making techniques were used in Life to get the exact shots Attenborough wanted, focused on animals and events that were as yet unseen. Though presenter, Attenborough is infrequently seen, the subjects occupying most of the camera time.

A Memory of Light

November 4, 2011 1:46pm

A Memory of Light is the final book in Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time fantasy series, co-written with Brandon Sanderson. The book has yet to be published but is eagerly anticipated by all his fans!

Jordan sadly died on September 16th 2007 from cardiac amyloidosis and so the book is being published posthumously by Harriet McDougal, his wife, and Tom Doherty, his publisher. Brandon Sanderson chose to finish writing the book! While we know the story won’t revolve around gu10 led bulbs, we still can’t wait to find out what it is about! As a single volume would be too large to print, the unfinished book was split into three volumes, the first two already having been published by his wife and publisher. The third part is the part we are all waiting for! The book has thus been subdivided into: ‘The Gathering Storm’, ‘Towers of Midnight’ and ‘A Memory of Light’.

Funky Trousers

July 4, 2011 9:52pm

Womens trousers don’t have to be boring anymore.

Animal prints and also patterned trousers are a big hit this season! My favourite pair are these:

Teamed with a black tank top and pair of mega black heels they would look great for any occasions.
And to make it even better – these trousers are on sale and are now £21! Bargain!
